A Moroccan shag rug is a handmade wool rug with a thick, plush pile. It is soft underfoot and adds warmth and texture to a room. In our shop, this is the Plush Pile option.

Where a plush rug works best

• Bedrooms, next to the bed or under it.
• Living rooms where you want a cozy, relaxed feel.
• Reading corners and low-traffic areas.

When to choose a lower pile

A thick pile is less practical under dining chairs, in entryways or where doors open over the rug. In those spaces, Medium or Low Pile is easier to live with.

Caring for a plush wool rug

• Vacuum gently without a beater bar.
• Shake or rotate it from time to time so it wears evenly.
• Blot spills quickly instead of rubbing.
